Zhongligong Site

The Zhongligong Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Jining City.

The Zhongligong Site is situated on a high terrace to the east of Zhongligong Village, Yandian Town. It was discovered during the 1973 cultural relics survey. The site extends roughly 250 meters from east to west and about 200 meters from north to south, with an area of approximately 50,000 square meters. It features a rich cultural content and a deposit layer about 2 meters thick, representing a cultural site from the Shang and Zhou periods. Surface exposures include ash pits, red burned earth, and kiln pits. Collected artifacts consist of sandy red pottery li and jars, sandy gray pottery jars, vessel lids, as well as gray clay pottery fragments such as li and jars, along with commercial burial sites. The site is well-preserved. In 1985, it was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit of Jining City. According to the Yanzhou Government Document (2009) No. 28, the protected area is defined with the marker stele as the center point, extending 100 meters east, 200 meters west, 200 meters south, and 100 meters north.
