Taiping Site

The Taiping Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Jining City.

The Taiping Site is located to the west of Taiping Village, Xiaomeng Town, Yanzhou City, covering an area of approximately 15,000 square meters with a cultural deposit thickness of about 1.5 meters. Collected artifacts from the Dawenkou Culture include pottery made of gray clay, red clay, and sandy clay, featuring decorative patterns such as string motifs. Artifact types include cups, tripods, and pots. In March 2001, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Jining City. According to the Yanzhou Government Document (2009) No. 28, the protected area is defined with the marker stele as the center point, extending 50 meters east, 100 meters west, 100 meters south, and 100 meters north. The construction control zone extends 50 meters outward from the boundary of the protected area.

Xiaomeng Town: Located at the junction of Yanzhou, Wenshang, and Ningyang (two cities and three counties), Xiaomeng Town in Yanzhou City covers a total area of 51.1 square kilometers, with 4,133 hectares of arable land. It governs 5 administrative regions and 42 administrative villages, with a total population of 39,000. The town has a long history and is home to the renowned Dawenkou Culture sites — the Xiwusi Site and the Sangyuan Site. It enjoys convenient transportation, with the Jiyang Highway passing through and the Yanzhou-Liangshan Highway intersecting here.
