Dongcao Kiln Site

The Dongcao Kiln Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Jining City.

The Dongcao Kiln Site is located east of Dongcao Village in Caoh River Town, covering an area of approximately 2,750 square meters with a cultural deposit depth of 2.5 meters. A rich variety of artifacts are exposed on the ground surface, mostly celadon porcelain fragments, including items such as bowls, dou vessels, plates, and triangular supports. The kiln structure is partially visible, taking a semi-circular form. Based on the artifacts found on the surface, this kiln site is believed to date back to the Northern Dynasties period. It was designated as a Cultural Heritage Protection Unit of Jining City in March 2001. According to Document Yanzhengfa (2009) No. 28, the protected area is defined with the marker stele as the center point, extending 100 meters east, 100 meters west, 50 meters south, and 150 meters north. The construction control zone extends 50 meters outward from the boundary of the protected area.

In 2002, the local fiscal revenue reached 5.86 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16%; GDP hit 520 million yuan, up 10%; fixed asset investment amounted to 92.8 million yuan, up 16%; and the per capita net income of farmers reached 3,560 yuan, up 6%.
