Zhushui Bridge Archway

The Zhushui Bridge Archway is a cultural tourism attraction.

　The Zhushui River is a small stream that runs east-west through the center of the Confucius Forest, right in front of Confucius’ tomb. Originally a small water conservancy project from the Zhou Dynasty, some also say it was dug during Qin Shi Huang’s campaign to burn books and bury scholars. The Zhushui Bridge Archway was built over the Zhushui River, and the three characters “Zhushui Bridge” (洙水桥) inscribed on the archway were written by Yan Song of the Ming Dynasty.
