A 100% Rural Tourism Hospitality Event: Shandong Welcomes All

The “Cross-Strait Rural Tourism 100%” event, jointly held by Shandong and Taiwan, will be launched this May. The Shandong Provincial Tourism Bureau has designed four major tour packages that integrate high-end agriculture, historical heritage, and local landscapes, providing tourists with an immersive journey into Shandong’s ecology, history, and culture.

Shandong and Taiwan have a long history of exchanges. In 2011, 490,700 Taiwanese visited Shandong, while 65,500 people from Shandong traveled to Taiwan. This year, the Shandong Provincial Tourism Bureau has introduced four special tour routes for the “Cross-Strait Rural Tourism 100%” event: “Strolling Through Qilu,” “Flowers Blooming in Shandong,” “Shandong’s Dual Heritage: Canals and Ancient Cities,” and “Enchanting Yantai and Peaceful Countryside.” These routes will take visitors to explore Lotus Mountain, the hometown of Confucius—Qufu, the ancient canal city of Taierzhuang, as well as to pick cherries in Qingdao’s Beizhai area or join fishermen from Yantai’s Changdao Island to go crab fishing and sailing, experiencing rural life firsthand.

A total of 14 travel agencies are participating in the “Cross-Strait Rural Tourism 100%” event, including Lion Travel, KANGLUCK, Sanfu, Southeast Travel, XiHong, Xintai, WuFu, Baiwei, E Travel Net, Canxing, Ximei, Shibang, Daxing, and Taiwan China. Detailed tour information and itineraries will be unveiled at the Taipei International Travel Fair this May.
