Introduction

The Analects is one of the classic texts of Confucian culture. It is said that Zhao Pu, a prime minister of the Song Dynasty, once remarked, "Half of the Analects is enough to govern the world." The "Analects Stone Garden" integrates landscapes, gardens, pavilions, and stone carvings, offering beautiful scenery and an elegant atmosphere. Located just 300 meters directly south of the Confucius Temple, it is a high-end cultural tourism attraction that presents the content of the Analects through calligraphy as its form of expression, stone inscriptions as its medium, and a classical garden as its setting. The Analects Stone Garden is situated west of Dacheng Road in southern Qufu, covering an area of over 200 acres. It features the words of Confucius’ Analects carved in various forms on walls and rocks, complemented by pavilions, halls, palaces, towers, and scenic corridors, all contributing to a refined ambiance. Covering an area of more than 70 acres, it includes over 400 structures such as towers and pavilions, water features spanning more than 7,000 square meters, and rockeries covering over 5,000 square meters. It is a newly built, high-quality cultural site suitable for all tastes.

The Analects Stone Garden features stone carvings of all 512 chapters of the Analects, with calligraphy contributed by 512 renowned calligraphers from around the world, showcasing all major script styles including regular, cursive, clerical, and seal scripts.
