Yanzi Forest is located south of Fangshan Mountain, 11 kilometers east of Qufu City. It is the cemetery of Yan Hui, a disciple of Confucius, and his descendants. Gifted with extraordinary intelligence, Yan Hui led a humble life but remained deeply committed to learning, earning high praise from Confucius. Tragically, he died prematurely at the age of 32, and was buried south of Fangshan Mountain. Over the generations, his descendants were buried here as well, and over time, this area evolved into the current family cemetery spanning more than 180 acres.
