The Stele of the Genealogy of Surnames is a cultural relic protection unit of Shandong Province.

Stele of the Genealogy of Surnames

(1) Location: Jiu County Second Street, Shuyuan Subdistrict, Qufu City.

(2) Protected area: 10 meters in all directions from the center of the stele (latitude 35°36′19.6″N, longitude 117°01′37.0″E).

(3) Construction control zone: 100 meters outside the protected area.

Shuyuan Subdistrict: Located in the old urban area, Shuyuan Subdistrict hosts over 100 municipal and district-level institutions, with a resident population of more than 50,000. Through coordination by the District Culture and Sports Bureau, the city library extended its services to establish its first community service point in Shuyuan Community.

Established as a district in 1965, Shuyuan Subdistrict was renamed Dongfeng Commune in 1968, reverted to Shuyuan Commune in 1980, became a district again in 1984, was reorganized as a township in 1986, upgraded to a town in 1997, and finally became a subdistrict in 2000.

Shuyuan Subdistrict derives its name from Zhushu Academy.
