On June 23, 2015, the Site of the Former Western Five Mansions was designated as part of the fifth batch of Provincial-Level Cultural Relics Protection Units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

It covers an area of 28.3 square kilometers, governs 26 villages (communities), has 9,760 households, and a population of 28,622. There are currently 112 grassroots Party organizations, including 1 village-level Party committee (Nan Chi Committee), 14 general Party branches, 97 Party branches, and 1,964 Party members.
