King of Chestnut from the Tang Dynasty In the Tang Dynasty Chestnut Garden within the eco-tourism zone, there is the largest chestnut tree, with a girth of 5.5 meters, a height of about 12 meters, and a crown diameter of 15 meters. It is said to have been honored as the “King of Chestnuts” by Empress Wu Zetian, the only female emperor in Chinese history, and dates back over 1,400 years. It still flourishes with lush foliage and yields over 100 kilograms of chestnuts annually.
