Zaozhuang Youth Palace

The Zaozhuang Youth Palace was established in 1983 and is affiliated with the Zaozhuang Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League. Covering an area of nearly 30 acres with a construction area of over 20,000 square meters, it currently has 96 faculty and staff members, making it the largest off-campus youth education activity base in the city. It includes 11 departments such as the Office, Finance Department, Publicity Department, Comprehensive Governance Office, Infrastructure Office, Education and Training Department, Art Troupe, and Activities Department. It regularly offers more than 50 training programs in four major categories—arts, sports, culture, and science and technology—with over 50,000 young people participating in various activities and training sessions annually. It has been awarded honors such as “National Science Education Base,” “Shandong Province Science Education Base,” and “Three-Star Science Education Base.” It has also been recognized as a national “Young Pioneers Digital Library Model School,” and has received provincial honors including “Advanced Youth Palace,” “Advanced Collective in Children and Juvenile Work,” “Shandong Province Education Base for Caring for the Next Generation,” “Shandong Province Advanced Unit in Moral Education,” “Shandong Province Moral Demonstration Base,” and has been named “Shandong Province Model School for Young (Police) Cadet Schools.” It has been honored by the municipal Party committee and government as a “Unit with Outstanding Contributions,” “Advanced Collective,” “Civilized Service Window Unit,” “Advanced Unit in Citywide Civilization City Creation,” “Advanced Grassroots Party Organization in Striving to Be the Best,” and “Zaozhuang Education Base for Caring for the Next Generation.”

The Zaozhuang Youth Palace actively organizes activities in ideological and moral education, science and technology, culture, and the arts that are popular among minors, encouraging more young people to participate voluntarily. These efforts have improved the overall quality of young people and promoted their healthy growth. Regular activities include the “One Military School, Two Camps, Three Platforms, Four Competitions, Five Public Welfare Events” program. These consist of running a Young Pioneers Cadet School; organizing summer and winter camps; creating three platforms for young people to showcase artistic talent, engage in international exchange and learning, and receive science and technology and moral education; hosting four flagship competitions—the City Vocal Music Competition, English Competition, Sparkle Torch Talent Competition, and Hua Luogeng Mathematics Elite Competition; and organizing five public welfare events including exhibitions, lectures, performances, training sessions, and film screenings. To date, 59 sessions of the Young Pioneers Cadet School have been held, with nearly 30,000 primary and secondary school students participating in military quality development training; nearly 50,000 young people have taken part in summer and winter camps; ten consecutive City Vocal Music Competitions, ten Sparkle Torch Talent Competitions, nineteen Hua Luogeng Mathematics Elite Competitions, and ten English Proficiency Competitions have been held, with over 80,000 young people participating in these events; more than 300 performances, 60 exhibitions, 50 lectures, 80 Communist Youth League Weekend Theaters have been organized, and over 1,100 children from low-income and impoverished families have received free public welfare training. A wide range of educational and training programs have made the Youth Palace an important platform for young people to develop their talents, pursue interests, cultivate sentiment, and improve their character. Emphasis is placed on distinctive training and brand programs, gradually forming a training system led by special programs in dance, calligraphy and painting, instrumental music, and Go. In response to development needs, new training courses such as pottery making and magic have been introduced, along with new programs like broadcasting and hosting, and flute. Through strategic partnerships and collaborative training models, institutions such as Wenhualu Primary School Kindergarten, Nature Beauty School, and RYB Parent-Child Garden have been integrated, opening up new possibilities for training. To date, over 3,000 outstanding talents have been sent to colleges, universities, and professional art troupes; the dance, drum set, guzheng, and vocal music programs have won 18 international awards, 69 national awards, over 80 provincial awards, over 150 municipal awards, and over 8,000 participants have won awards in various national, provincial, and municipal art competitions.
