Zijinshan Scenic Area

Zijinshan Scenic Area is located in Qianping Village, Bai’an Township, Xingtai County. It is 66 kilometers east of downtown Xingtai and is easily accessible via Provincial Highway Xingtai (Zuoquan) Road.

Covering an area of 28 square kilometers, the scenic area is situated in the middle section of the main range of the Taihang Mountains, at the intersection of Xingtai, Wu’an, and Zuoquan counties across two provinces and three counties. It features a typical northern mountainous peak-forest landform. The area boasts high mountains, dense forests, beautiful waters, and serene valleys. With its vast expanse, favorable climate, diverse terrain, and picturesque landscapes, it offers exceptional natural ecology. Historical records indicate that Liu Bingzhong, a key advisor to Kublai Khan, the founding emperor of the Yuan Dynasty, once studied here in Disha Gully alongside Zhang Wenqian, Zhang Yi, Wang Xun, and Guo Shoujing during his youth. During the Anti-Japanese War, the supply department of the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army and the currency printing factory of the Jinnan Bank were also stationed here. Historical ruins still remain today.

The scenic area is divided into four zones along its course: Jiuliwan Zone (central area), Disha Gully Zone (eastern area), Qingsongling Zone (western area), and Zhen Gongya Zone (northern area). Each zone has its own distinctive highlights. Jiuliwan features deep gorges and flowing streams, Disha Gully boasts tranquil lakes and cascading waterfalls, Qingsongling is alive with the rustle of pine trees, and Zhen Gongya is rich in traditional folk beliefs. There are currently over 90 scenic spots, making it an ideal destination for travel and vacation, adventure and exploration, historical visits and scientific research,

health and wellness, and socializing or romantic getaways.
