Site of Liangwang Terrace

The Site of Liangwang Terrace is a cultural relic protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Site of Liangwang Terrace is located 3 kilometers northeast of Dingtao County and 100 meters northwest of Jialou Village, Dingtao Town. The terrace stretches 50 meters from north to south, 35 meters from east to west, and stands 2 meters high.

In the late Qin Dynasty, Peng Yue gathered followers to rebel, initially serving under Xiang Yu in the fight against the Qin and in support of Chu. During the Chu-Han Contention, Peng Yue led 30,000 soldiers to surrender to Liu Bang, conquered the Liang region, and repeatedly cut off Xiang Yu’s supply routes. In 202 BC (the fifth year of Emperor Gaozu of Han), Peng Yue was enfeoffed as the King of Liang, with his capital at Dingtao. During his reign, he built a high terrace used for reviewing troops and military training. In 196 BC (the eleventh year of Emperor Gaozu of Han), Peng Yue was executed by Empress Lü on charges of plotting rebellion. Later generations, in honor of King Liang Peng Yue, referred to the terrace where he reviewed troops as “Liangwang Reviewing Terrace,” or simply “Liangwang Terrace.”

A Dongyue Temple once stood on the site, with a main hall of three bays erected on the terrace. The interior walls were adorned with murals, and the carved beams and painted rafters were vividly lifelike. In February 1979, it was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit by the Dingtao County People's Government.

Binhe Subdistrict: Binhe Subdistrict is under the jurisdiction of Dingtao District, Heze City, Shandong Province. It was officially established in 2011 and governs 3 community neighborhood committees[1], 23 village committees, and 63 natural villages, with a total population of 64,000. The cultivated land area is 2,733 hectares. There are 35 grassroots party (general) branches with 1,245 party members. In 2014, the subdistrict achieved a local fiscal revenue of 38.895 million yuan, an increase of 41.74% over the previous year, completed industrial and commercial tax revenue of 46.441 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 3,803 yuan.
