The Huaiwang Mansion was built during the Ming Dynasty as the residence of Prince Huai, Zhu Zhan’ao. The site is located to the east of the Dacheng Hall of the Confucian Temple in Raozhou Prefecture, Poyang County, Shangrao City. It is one of the best-preserved Ming Dynasty princely mansions in China and the only one among Jiangxi’s three major Ming-era princely mansions that is worthy of large-scale archaeological excavation. It holds significant historical and scientific value for the study of the architectural standards, layout, and materials used in Ming Dynasty princely residences.
