The Former Site of Qifengyan Prison

The Former Site of Qifengyan Prison is located in Qifeng Village, Huangshi Township, Shangrao County. It consists of seven peaks and one cave, and can be divided into three types of tours: a tribute tour, a pilgrimage tour, and a scenic tour.

Tribute Tour: During that time, the Kuomintang used a squad of military police and a platoon of secret agents to divide the original temple side rooms and the cave into several small sections using wooden fences, turning them into prison cells. Many people were imprisoned here, including Zhang Zhengkun, commander of the Third Column of the New Fourth Army; Feng Dafei, deputy commander and education director of the Education Corps; and Xu Jinsu, commander of the Fifth Regiment of the Third Column.

Pilgrimage Tour: The Qifengyan Temple was built during the Tang Dynasty. With its long history, it has long been a renowned Buddhist site.

Scenic Tour: Due to the unique geographical formation of Qifengyan, the seven peaks are connected to each other, creating beautiful scenery and enchanting views. Halfway up the mountain, there is a naturally formed, peculiar cave with interconnected chambers.
