Chating Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Shangrao County. It was established as Chating Commune in 1961, restructured as a township in 1984, and upgraded to a town in 1995. Located in the southwestern part of the county on the southern bank of the Xin River, it is 10 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 92 square kilometers with a population of 33,000, it lies along the northwest edge intersected by the Hengnan Railway spur line and National Highway 320, featuring a Chating Station. The town administers 17 village committees: Baisha, Nanyan, Hudun, Yingfang, Dun Tou, Xihu, Zhanjia, Meitan, Meigao, Xiapai, Xuwu, Ruokeng, Kunshan, Songping, Qianfang, Hongyuan, and Baojia.
