Hongcun Changsheng Taoist Temple is located atop Jinelong Mountain in Hongcun Town. It derives its name from the mountain’s common name, Changshengzhai (Longevity Stronghold). Originally built in the first year of the Jiaping era during the Song Dynasty (1064), it was bestowed its name by Emperor Yingzong of Song. It is the earliest Taoist site established in the county. In ancient times, many scholars and literati lectured or wrote here. Now fully renovated, it enjoys thriving incense offerings.

Hongcun Town: Hongcun Town is located 23 kilometers southeast of Lichuan County. It borders Desheng Town to the east, Zhangxi Township to the south, Xicheng Township to the west, and Long’an Town and Sheping Township to the north. The area features a hilly and mountainous terrain, with higher elevations in the southeast, lower in the northwest, and relatively flat land in the central part. The geological structure mainly consists of loose rock types and clastic rocks; the rock mass is primarily medium-coarse grained biotite granite and granofels. The region has a mid-subtropical humid climate, characterized by mild weather, abundant rainfall, and distinct seasons. The water system is well-developed, with the Kongyuan River and Zhangcun River flowing through the area, converging within the town before entering the Long’an River, with an annual flow of over 170 million cubic meters.
