Zifu Ancient Pagoda

Zifu Ancient Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

Zifu Ancient Pagoda is situated in Zifu Village, Heyuan Township, Lichuan County, with the Zifu River (also known as "Dongchuan"), one of the county’s three major rivers, flowing beside it. Originally constructed in the 14th year of the Jiading era of the Song Dynasty (1221 AD) and later restored during the Qing Dynasty, it is a rare solid brick pagoda in China. The seven-story, six-sided tower is 23 meters high, with each level adorned with overhanging eaves. The false doors on the tower walls face outward and serve as niches, all painted with Buddha images. The original copper pagoda top collapsed and no longer exists. In 2010, it was restored to resemble its former appearance, and it has now been submitted for recognition as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit.
