Bafuolo Ecological Valley Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Bafuolo Ecological Valley Scenic Area is located within the Changxi Cultural Industry Park in Dacheng Town, east of Gao’an City and west of Nanchang City. It is dedicated to creating a national-level agritainment complex scenic destination. The scenic area offers beautiful pastoral scenery all year round—flowers to admire and fields to explore in spring, along with sports and camping; water activities and lotus viewing in summer, as well as cooling off and fishing; autumn brings lotus picking, fruit harvesting, chrysanthemum viewing on high grounds, and in winter, health nourishment and butterfly observation.

1. Hundred Oxen Plowing

This area includes the Dahuoheap•Farming Culture Village, Gengchun Island•Terraced Field Scenic Area, and Yu Yue•Fishing Paradise, collectively showcasing the farming scene of “diligently tilling the soil before spring, joyfully harvesting the grains after autumn.” Spanning several hundred acres and named Hundred Oxen Plowing, the ancient village and terraced fields allow visitors to enjoy flower boats on the water, vast reed marshes, and slopes covered in chrysanthemums. You can also paddle a boat with family and friends to deeply experience the traditional “terraced fields and mulberry-based fish ponds” farming model and take in the pastoral water town scenery.

2. Lotus Fragrance

Located on the western bank of the lower reaches of Zhonggang River, Lotus Fragrance covers nearly a thousand acres and stretches about 2.5 kilometers from north to south. The area cultivates premium Taihang white lotus and integrates various aquaculture species, forming an efficient ecological cycle agricultural model of growing lotus seeds, admiring blossoms, and raising thriving fish among blooming lotuses. The dark green lotus leaves are picturesque, and the fragrant blooms captivate visitors. This place not only offers the beauty of “endless green lotus leaves reaching the sky and lotus flowers uniquely red under the sun,” but also the tranquility of frog chirps and cicada songs in moonlit lotus ponds. Plus, the “Lotus Banquet” lets you savor “the fragrance of flowers on your taste buds.”

3. Daheli•Folk Culture

Connecting Xiniuji•Third Space and Lotus Fragrance, this area features new Chinese-style homestays, rural bars, traditional wineries, red-brick museums, and lotus-viewing pavilions. Its classic folk charm invites visitors to stop and immerse themselves in a moment of leisure. The homestays retain the essence of original rural architecture, offering warm accommodations and soulful living. The 12 cottages blend local culture, natural landscapes, ecological and environmental resources, as well as agricultural, forestry, fishery, and animal husbandry activities, operating as family-run side businesses that soothe both body and mind, encouraging a slow food and travel lifestyle. Whether heading north or south, the journey is convenient and relaxing. This is a rural trip, a spiritual journey, and an unforgettable holiday for travelers, providing a place to experience countryside living.

4. Xiniuji•Youth Third Space

This is a youth nature education and experience camp that incorporates traditional farming culture elements of oxen. The Third Space includes Xiniu Square, Xiniu Home (service center, ticket office, changing rooms, showers), Jin Niu Train (train station), Swing Plaza, Tornado Soccer, Natural Rhapsody (including: block world, sound wave array, percussion instruments, molecular climbing, light-footed water-walking, sink sand pit, tire playground), Le Niu Combo (trampoline, rocker, seesaw, and starry sky climbing, etc.), Wild Luxury Trail, Forest Theater, Warriors Energy Station (a wooden cabin), Forest Installation Art Exhibition, Parent-Child Farm, Warriors’ Path, Children’s Pasture, ATV All-Terrain Vehicle, Children’s Dream Orchard, Brave Pine Forest Challenge (tree-top adventure), Treehouse Tribe, Qiaoniu•Ceramics Workshop, Qiaoniu•Red Brick Art Museum, Ceramics World (ceramics cultural square), Shen Niu Disturbing the Sea (tsunami ride), Kids Water Castle, Le Niu Water Pond, Water Maze, Floating Water Park, Water Service Center (commercial services and on-site management inside the water park), and Eco Parking Lot (reserved for primary and secondary school study groups)—27 attractions in total. Together, they form six zones: Comprehensive Service Area, Eco Kids Play Area, Tree-top Adventure Area, Water Play Area, Farming & Learning Area. Education through fun allows children to experience the joy of outdoor activities and explore the world with their own hands.

5. Zhiwei•Food & Shopping Street

Zhiwei Street connects Xiniuji•Youth Third Space and Huatian Guodi. Twelve shops creatively blend modern and classical, rural and artistic elements, transforming original residential buildings into a food street with rural cultural character. It introduces dining options rich in Central Jiangxi regional flavor and Gao’an historical culture, such as “Zhu Gong Feast,” “Whole Ox Banquet,” and “Lobster Restaurant,” complemented by leisure offerings like open-air music bars and beer barbecues. “Food is the first necessity of the people”—while satisfying hunger and offering delicious tastes, it also infuses a sense of humanistic care, leaving a delightful aftertaste.

6. Huatian Guodi

Huatian Guodi faces the thousand-acre lotus fields of Lotus Fragrance to the east and borders the hundred-acre forest of Leisure Zone to the west. Leveraging the area’s beautiful natural terrain, the eastern part features lush green lawns and romantic rose gardens, supplemented by colorful flower fields; the western part includes sweet landscape orchards and vineyards. The most eye-catching attraction is the core scenic spot—Luoman Lawn, spanning 118 acres. It is the largest lawn in a Chinese scenic area that allows visitors to stroll and exercise on. The central structure is vibrant and colorful, with striking towers, while a tranquil lake reflects the blue sky amidst the lawn, embraced by lawn and forest. Visitors can roam, sit, rest, pose for photos, fly kites, sing, and enjoy the open-hearted fun. Here, you can enjoy rose fragrance, savor fruit aromas, tread on green grass, and listen to music. Flowers, greenery, honeyed fruits, and melodies of music, film, and art blend together, offering visitors the best eco-tourism and leisure experience.

7. Ruochun Tea Garden:

The tea garden is built at the highest point of Bafuolo, resembling a flying saucer atop a small hill enveloped by tea trees. Constructed by digging terraces from the foot of the hill, the tea house is surrounded by tea bushes, with nine guest rooms nearby. The garden offers Gao’an white tea and other premium teas from across China. Brewed by professional tea artists, the tea offers a refreshing and meditative experience. Sitting in a wooden cottage or thatched hut, with the distant sound of high-speed trains speeding by, the contrast of movement and stillness creates a unique charm.

8. Butterfly Valley

Covering 500 acres, Bafuolo Butterfly Valley is dedicated to “protecting the natural ecological environment and promoting science education.” It boasts the world’s only suspended aerial butterfly viewing garden, characterized by innovation, interaction, technology, and year-round butterfly viewing. Recognized as China’s largest and most internationally advanced butterfly viewing garden, it houses over 200 species of live butterflies in China and nearly 2,000 insect specimens from around the world. It is a butterfly-themed park integrating butterfly viewing, science education, family recreation, ecological cultivation, and butterfly craft development. The valley also features seven functional areas: Ecological Viewing Zone, Butterfly Release Zone, Specimen Exhibition Zone, Insect Science Zone, Leisure Shopping Zone, Interactive Play Zone, and Butterfly Breeding Zone.

9. Butterfly Dance & Firefly Glow•RV Campsite

The RV campsite connects Huatian Guodi and Butterfly Valley. It accommodates 50 RVs on a spacious, flat site with a pleasant ecological environment, adjacent to natural and artificial water bodies. As night falls, you can gaze at the starry sky with loved ones, enjoy barbecues, music, and dancing. You can savor rose fragrance, taste fruit aromas, tread on green grass, and listen to music, sharing the beauty of the wilderness. An RV is a mobile home, and the RV campsite is its resting station.

10. Bamboo Cage Frame•Farmers’ Market

Located in the eastern part of Bafuolo Ecological Valley near the visitor center, the Bamboo Cage Frame•Farmers’ Market showcases fresh produce grown in premium orchards and vegetable gardens, including grapes, watermelons, peaches, tomatoes, mulberries, melons, and cucumbers, available for picking or purchase. The market follows the philosophy of “creating a friendly field, sharing a healthy life, and uniting neighborhood bonds,” adhering to the “Five Self” principles: self-produced, self-brewed, self-made, self-created, and self-sold, maintaining standards of “eco-friendly•healthy•safe.”

11. Smart Agriculture Exhibition Center

The Bafuolo Smart Agriculture Exhibition Center is an integrated smart agriculture demonstration project featuring intelligent, automated, and modular systems centered on digital sensor technology with original innovative intellectual property. It includes a Smart Agriculture Exhibition Hall for display and training purposes, and a Standard Production Demonstration Greenhouse for promotion and application. Through integrated demonstrations, the Bafuolo Smart Agriculture project achieves intelligence in production, differentiation in business operations, and comprehensive information services in the service sector, thereby driving the transformation and upgrade of the agricultural industry chain. It realizes refined, efficient, and green agriculture, ensures food safety, enhances agricultural competitiveness, and supports sustainable agricultural development.

①National Highway 320 runs east of the scenic area’s main entrance, located about 5 kilometers west of Dacheng Town.

②Coming from Changliu Expressway, exit at Xiangfu, enter National Highway 320, and drive northeast (toward Nanchang) for about 5 kilometers to arrive.

③Coming from Changzhang Expressway, you can exit at Hujiafang Expressway, take Provincial Road S220 (or exit at Fengcheng Expressway, take Provincial Road S222) to enter East Gao’an Ring Road, then turn right and head northeast onto National Highway 320, driving about 12 kilometers to reach the destination.
