Wulichen Village Shuikou Pagoda

Wulichen Village Shuikou Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

Shuikou Pagoda, commonly known as Wuli Pagoda, is located in Wulichen Village, Huibu Town, Gao’an City, about 35 kilometers from downtown Gao’an. It was first built in the 14th year of the Wanli reign during the Ming Dynasty (1586) and has undergone multiple periods of rise and decline over the years. The last renovation took place in the 48th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1784). The pagoda was built alongside a stream, hence its name “Shuikou” (Water Mouth) Pagoda. It features a brick, stone, beam, and timber structure with a pavilion-style tower that is magnificent and elegant in appearance. The tower opens broadly on all sides and complements the beauty of Liao Mountain’s towering peaks. The pagoda stands 35.5 meters tall, with eight sides and seven stories. Each level contains a chamber, and each chamber has eight sides with arched doorways. The interior is decorated with octagonal floral and bird patterns, while the exterior is adorned with a jade-green glazed gourd-shaped finial. The structure is majestic in form and carries an extraordinary presence. It was renovated in 2007 and designated as a provincial-level cultural relic unit in 2006.

Huibu Town: Located in the southwestern part of Gao’an City, Huibu Town is 84 kilometers from Nanchang (the provincial capital) and 23 kilometers from downtown Gao’an. The terrain is higher in the south and lower in the north, mainly consisting of hills and alluvial plains. The town covers a total area of 122.46 square kilometers and governs 20 village committees and one neighborhood committee (Huibu). It has a total population of 47,973, including 39,772 agricultural residents.

Huibu is a millennium-old town with a long history and abundant talent.
