Former Site of the Tea Pit Encampment of the Hubei-Guangdong Provincial Committee

The former site of the Tea Pit Encampment of the Hubei-Guangdong Provincial Committee is located in Chakeng Group, Xita Village, Ganfang Town, Fengxin County. In July 1934, when the provincial committee’s base at Baizhang fell, the forces of Provincial Committee Secretary Chen Changshou moved to Chakeng. To sustain and strengthen the revolutionary struggle in the Xiutongyifeng border region, the Xiutongyifeng Central County Committee of the Chinese Communist Party was reorganized into the Xiutongyifeng Border Special Committee of the CCP, which led the guerrilla warfare along the borders of counties such as Feng, Jing, Xiu, Tong, Gao, Yi, and An. This former site plays an important role in understanding the history of people's revolutionary struggles at that time.

Ganfang Town: Ganfang Town is located in the southwestern part of Fengxin County. It borders Shangfu Town to the east, Xita Township to the west, Yifeng County to the south, and Liutou Township to the north. It is 58 kilometers from the county seat and covers a total area of 76 square kilometers. Surrounded by green mountains and crisscrossed by rivers, the town enjoys a mild climate and abundant rainfall year-round. Since ancient times, it has been known for its simple folk customs and rich cultural heritage. Historically, it was a prosperous ancient town in the mountainous regions of northwest Jiangxi. The town administers six villages and one farm, comprising 56 villager groups and 118 natural settlements. The town center has a population of over 2,500, with a total population of more than 6,200.
