The Ancient City Wall of Xingan is located on Huancheng South Road in Jinchuan Town. The city wall of Xingan County was originally built during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period (907–979 AD) as an earthen wall constructed using the rammed earth method. It wasn’t until the ninth year of the Zhengde era in the Ming Dynasty (1514 AD) that the earthen wall was replaced with bricks. Watchtowers were built atop each gate for surveillance purposes. The wall underwent multiple renovations during the Qing Dynasty but was eventually ordered to be demolished by the government during the Republican era.
