Chenjiacun Shiliang Bridge

Chenjiacun Shiliang Bridge is located in Chenjiacun, Dayangzhou Town, built over the Chenjia Canal. Constructed during the Qing Dynasty, it runs from southeast to northwest and served as an ancient path leading to Qingjiang. The bridge has a total length of 19.88 meters and a width of 1.3 meters. The bridge deck is paved with three rows totaling 18 stone slabs (two rows of bluestone slabs with one row of granite slabs laid in between), each bluestone slab measuring 3.07 meters in length, 0.43–0.47 meters in width, and 0.12 meters in thickness, while the granite slabs are 0.35 meters wide. At the joints of the bridge deck slabs, bluestone support slabs are used, totaling five pieces, each extending slightly beyond the deck by about 0.4 meters. The bridge has three columns forming a “/丨\” shape, totaling 15 pillars, with their submerged parts directly fitted onto wooden stakes in the water. At both ends of the bridge, multiple bluestone slabs are stacked to form piers. The northwest-side bridge pillar is inscribed with the words “Reconstructed in the winter month of the renshen year, the 17th year of Qianlong”; slightly to the left of the bridgehead stands a “Sanyuan Pavilion” for travelers to rest. The bridge is simple yet sturdy, built using mortise-and-tenon construction, and bears an exact date of construction, making it a rare structure in the region.
