Main Hall of the Yongnian Confucius Temple

The Main Hall of the Yongnian Confucius Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province.

The main hall of the Confucius Temple is located in Guangfu Town, Yongnian County, and features a double-eaved, hip-and-gable roof. According to the Guangping Prefecture Records, the hall was built in the early Ming Dynasty, measuring seven bays in width and three bays in depth, using a total of 24 pillars. It covers a floor area of 632.4 square meters, stands 17 meters tall, and is topped with glazed tiles. The eaves are adorned with bracket sets—single at the column tops, triple between columns, and diagonal at the corners—all of which are composed of three tiers of arms with double downward extensions and eight auxiliary brackets. In front of the hall is a raised platform made of blue bricks, edged with stone slabs, standing 1.5 meters high and 36.3 meters wide. This Dacheng Hall was originally the highest-specification and best-preserved Confucius Temple structure in Hebei Province. It is now a key cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province.

On the night of November 28, 1982, a fire broke out and destroyed the main hall. Only the foundation and column top stones remain today. The column top stones have drum-shaped bases with a diameter of 0.75 meters. There were originally side halls on the east and west sides of the main hall, but they were destroyed early on, leaving only the column top stones.
