Xinzhai Ancestral Hall

Xinzhai Ancestral Hall, located in Yanjia Natural Village, Zhuangxia Village, Zhujian Township, Anfu County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, is a structure built during the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty. It measures 13.3 meters in width and 40.5 meters in length, with a total floor area of 578.55 square meters. The hall was constructed after Yan Xinzhai passed the imperial examination for the position of Juren (recommended scholar). The building features three straight sections, two courtyards, one central skywell, and is built with a brick-and-wood structure. It is an example of a combined memorial archway and ancestral hall complex, and represents one of the grander architectural works from the late Qing Dynasty. Originally serving as the primary school for Shaxi Village, it now stands unoccupied. While both its interior and exterior structures remain relatively intact, a small portion of the memorial archway has been damaged.

Zhujian Township: Zhujian Township is situated in the southeastern part of Anfu County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province. It borders Litian Township of Ji'an County to the east and is approximately 37 kilometers from Ji'an City. The township covers an area of 86.8 square kilometers and governs 11 administrative villages: Zhuangxia, Gaocun, Xiauche, Aiwu, Yangkou, Zhuli, Zhehu, Xiashè, Dianshang, Zhongtuan, and Guanxi. It consists of 103 villager groups, with a total population of 15,000 people and 420 Party members.

Zhujian has a long history and enjoys a favorable location. The areas of Yangkou and Chengtian within the township were once the site of the ancient county seat of Anping.
