Dyeing Workshop Ruins

The Dyeing Workshop Ruins are a cultural heritage site protected by Anfu County.

The Dyeing Workshop Ruins are situated on a flat, open platform at the southern edge of Nanchong Ridge in Youlu Village, Pengfang Township. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, the site is bordered on the east by the Youlu River, a tributary of the Chen Mountain River, which meanders along the ruins. The site includes two rectangular rinsing pools, each 3.8 meters long and 2.8 meters wide, 17 circular dyeing pools each with a diameter of 3.8 meters, two stoves with diameters of 0.9 meters and 1.1 meters respectively and a height of 1.2 meters, as well as facilities such as drainage ditches and drying platforms. The stoves and pool walls are constructed with cobblestones, while the inner walls are sealed with lime plaster. Small round holes for inserting poles are found within the pool walls. The total area of the site is approximately 800 square meters.

The discovery of the Dyeing Workshop Ruins provides tangible evidence for the study of the craftsmanship, production, and development of ancient rural dyeing industries in our county.
