Shangjie Dong’an Bridge

Shangjie Dong’an Bridge is a cultural heritage protection unit of Anfu County.

Shangjie Dong’an Bridge is located in Shangjie Village, Yangmen Township, Anfu County.

In March 2011, it was designated as part of the fourth batch of cultural heritage protection units in Anfu County. (Anfu Government Document [2011] No. 29)

Protection area: 20 meters in all directions around the heritage site.

Construction control zone: an additional 10 meters extending outward from the protection area in all directions.

Shangjie Village: Shangjie Village was included in the first batch of China’s Traditional Villages list in December 2012. With a long history and dense population, the village has 1,620 residents and 446 households. Nestled among mountains and near water, it is described as “facing Chenhe River in the front and backed by Jinlian Mountain,” and is hailed as “a thousand-year-old ancient village at the foot of the Luoxiao Mountains.” From 1930 to 1933, it served successively as the government seat of the 11th District of the Northwest Special Region of the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area and the First District of Anfu County under the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet.
