Introduction The Jiubian–Changtan Scenic Area in Dingnan County is described in an old saying: “Of the ninety-nine rivers in Jiangxi, only one flows to Boluo,” and that river is the Jiubian River in Dingnan County. The Jiubian River is the largest river within Dingnan County and, along with rivers originating from the 300 Mountains in Anyuan and the Jilong Ridge in Xunwu, is one of the sources of the Dongjiang River. It is named the Jiubian River because its course forms a shape resembling the character “九” (nine) as it flows through Boluo Bay. Upon entering the scenic area, visitors are greeted by vast misty waters, lush, layered mountains, dotted white sails, and spring-like weather all year round, as if stepping into a paradise. Key attractions include the Natural Bridge, Hakka Mountain Village, Moonlight Island, subtropical primeval plant communities, the Jiubian Power Station, and the Changtan Power Station.
