Meizi Mountain

Meizi Mountain is located on the northern side of Quannan County, with an elevation of 327 meters and an area of 0.5 square kilometers. It got its name during the Qing Dynasty due to the abundance of plum trees on the mountain. During the Republic of China period, most of the trees were cut down, turning the mountain into a grassy hill covered with silvergrass. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the county government designated Meizi Mountain as a scenic area for greening and beautification, and established protective measures. By the 1970s, Meizi Mountain was already covered with dense pine and fir trees, lush and verdant, becoming a major scenic attraction in the county. In 1987, a martyrs' memorial monument and hiking stairways were built. In 1985, six traditional-style pavilions with upturned eaves were constructed.
