Zhenghe Chen Clan Ancestral Hall

Zhenghe Chen Clan Ancestral Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Ganzhou City.

Zhenghe Chen Clan Ancestral Hall is located in Zhaxia, Zhenghe Village, Potou Town, Quannan County. It consists of a courtyard and the ancestral hall itself. The ancestral hall is built in the shape of a dragon surging through waves, facing south with its back to the north, oriented along the Ren–Bing direction. According to the fifth revised genealogy of the Quannan Chen Clan, the ancestral hall was first built in 1354, making it over 660 years old. The courtyard and stone memorial archway were constructed in 1907 to honor the glory of the imperial son-in-law Chen Zhen. The total area covers 1,815.28 square meters.

The ancestral hall is built with a brick-and-wood structure, featuring a post-and-lintel beam frame and a flush-gable roof. On either side of the entrance porch, a pair of majestic stone lions stand facing each other with vivid, piercing eyes. Flanking the main gate are a pair of carved stone drums. The entire structure is supported by 16 stone pillars and blue-brick horse-head walls, with the tops of the stone pillars adorned with carvings of mythical ao fish. The ridge stands 11.6 meters high, with three bays in width, two courtyards, and three halls. The ancestral hall covers an area of 1,630.48 square meters.
