Shizhai Fort

Ganzhou’s Shizhai Fort is located in the northwest corner of Longyuanba Town, known as the “Watermelon Capital.” Nestled between two peaks—Sanjiangjun (Three Generals) and Jilongzhai (Chicken Cage Fort)—the mountain features a naturally formed ring-shaped stone corridor stretching approximately 1.2 kilometers. The corridor contains various life-sized stone objects such as tables and benches. The perilous pass of Niubidong (Ox Nose Cave) lies within this stone corridor. Passing through the cave opens up to a surprisingly vast flatland. Climbing to the top of Shizhai Fort and looking out, you’ll be greeted by endless lush greenery, and the unique production and lifestyle of the Yao ethnic villages scattered at the foot of the mountain add to its captivating charm.
