The Dalun Ancestral Hall

The Dalun Ancestral Hall is located within the Old House Lower Walled Village in Zhenggui Village, Liren Town, about 11 kilometers east of Longnan County. Together with the Dalbin Ancestral Hall on its left, it is known as the "Mandarin Duck Hall" and also called the "Hall of Loyalty and Righteousness." It was originally built in the eighth year of the Hongzhi reign during the Ming Dynasty (1495) by brothers Dalun and Dalbin, the founding ancestors of the Li clan. The Dalbin Ancestral Hall was destroyed early on, leaving only the Dalun Ancestral Hall. The hall faces southeast and is oriented toward the northwest. It consists of three sections: the entrance hall, the front hall, the middle hall, and the rear hall, forming a four-courtyard, three-well architectural structure. The entire ancestral hall is 12.2 meters wide and 49.9 meters deep, with a total floor area of 608.8 square meters. The roof beams of the ancestral hall combine through-tenon and post-and-lintel construction. The middle hall is particularly grand, standing 8.45 meters high. The hall displays plaques inscribed with “Dalun Ancestral Hall” and “Hall of Loyalty and Righteousness.” This ancestral hall boasts a long history, large scale, sturdy structure, exquisite craftsmanship, and high cultural heritage value.
