Shazhouba Grand Auditorium

The Shazhouba Grand Auditorium is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Grand Auditorium of the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic is located at Laochatin in Shazhouba Town, Ruijin City, Jiangxi Province. It faces southeast and is built with a brick-concrete structure. The main building is an octagonal tower, divided into three levels from the ground to the roof: the hall, the balcony, and the roof. It features 10 cement round pillars, 14 doors, and 17 louvered windows, covering an area of 1,500 square meters.

The Grand Auditorium of the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic was constructed starting in August 1933 and completed in January 1934. It was designed by Qian Zhuangfei, with Yuan Fuqin serving as the engineering supervisor. From January 21 to February 1, 1934, the Second National Congress of the Chinese Soviet was held here. The congress passed revised versions of the Constitution Outline, Land Law, Marriage Law, and other legal statutes, elected a new Central Executive Committee, and called on the people to defend the red regime and support the revolutionary war. In addition, important meetings such as the First National Political Work Conference of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army were also held here. After the main force of the Red Army embarked on the Long March, the auditorium was demolished by the enemy. It was restored to its original appearance in 1956 and was designated as a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level in 1961.
