Long March Route Tourist Line

The four counties of Ruijin, Yudu, Ningdu, and Xingguo form the tourist line of the Long March. Red Capital Ruijin was the site of the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic, where the First National Congress of the Chinese Soviet was held in November 1931. In Ruijin's Shazhouba, you can find the site of the Second National Congress of Workers, Peasants, and Soldiers, as well as the Red Well, among other sites. Ruijin’s Yunshishan Mountain was the starting point for some of the Red Army’s Long March troops, earning the title “First Mountain of the Long March.” Yudu has the site of the Red Army’s Long March crossing, where Comrade Mao Zedong began his Long March journey, known as the “First Crossing of the Long March.” Ningdu is home to the former headquarters of the 26th Route Army uprising. On December 14, 1931, the 26th Route Army announced their uprising here and were incorporated into the 5th Corps of the First Front Army of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army, strengthening the armed forces of the Central Red Army. The site is a two-story brick-and-wood Western-style building, now the Ningdu Uprising Memorial Hall. Xingguo County was a major part of the Central Soviet Area during the Second Revolutionary Civil War. At that time, the Xingguo Soviet Area had a population of just 230,000, yet over 80,000 joined the fight, with more than 23,000 sacrificing their lives. After the liberation, it was recorded that Xingguo produced a total of 54 generals, making it the well-known “County of Generals” of the Republic.
