Ye Ping Red Army Square

Ye Ping Red Army Square is a classic red tourism attraction.

In Ye Ping Village, Ruijin, Jiangxi Province, there is a small square featuring a 13-meter-high Monument to the Red Army Martyrs. The base of the monument is pentagonal, while the main body resembles a artillery shell. Directly opposite and complementing it to the east is a brick-and-wood Red Army Review Stand. The Red Army Square also functioned as a military training ground, spanning nearly two football fields in size. It is covered with lawn, surrounded by some planted trees and devoid of any other ornamental features. At the front is a Red Army Review Stand, and at the center in the distance stands a monument — the Monument to the Red Army Martyrs, which was also designed by Qian Zhuangfei. The monument resembles a rocket ready for launch, standing atop a five-pointed star base. Visitors can walk up to the monument via a dozen or so steps around its five sides, each about two meters wide. The body of the monument is earth-yellow in color and inlaid with uniformly sized pebbles. Between the review stand and the monument, a line of large characters is embossed on the ground in cement, standing out vividly against the green lawn: “March Forward Along the Bloodstained Path of the Red Army.” Each character is about two square meters in size, firm and resonant — as if they were the dying words of the martyrs or the vows of later generations at their tombs.

Ye Ping Township: Located in the central-eastern part of Ruijin City, Ye Ping Township borders Rentai Town, Ridong Township, and Changting County of Fujian Province to the east, adjoins the urban area of Ruijin to the west, connects with Zetan Township and Xianghu Town to the south, and links to Huangbai Township to the north. National Highways 206 and 319, the Ruixingyu Expressway Corridor, and the Ganlong Railway run through the township, with the Aiyui Expressway crossing it. The national 5A-level Ye Ping Scenic Area and the newly constructed 4C-level Ruijin Airport are both situated within its boundaries.
