The Former Revolutionary Site Cluster of Yeping is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism destination.

The Former Revolutionary Site Cluster of Yeping is 6 kilometers from the city center. From September 1931 to April 1933, it served as the political and military hub of the Central Soviet Area and the Soviet Republic, as well as the location of the highest governing body. A major historical event that shocked the world took place here: on November 7, 1931, the First National Congress of the Chinese Soviet Republic was held here, announcing the birth of China’s first red government — the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic. Mao Zedong was elected Chairman of the Provisional Central Government at this congress. The Yeping scenic area spans over 200 acres and includes 16 historic sites and memorial structures such as the former site of the Central Bureau of the Soviet Area, the former site of the Central Government, the Monument to the Red Army Martyrs, the Memorial Pavilion, the Red Army Review Stand, the Gonglue Pavilion, and the Boxun Fort. It is a national key cultural relics protection unit.

Within the former site of the Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic (i.e., the site of the “First National Congress of the Soviet”), visitors can also explore the former sites of the “Nine Ministries and One Bureau” established by the central government after the congress, including the Military Affairs Commissariat, the Land Commissariat, the Foreign Affairs Commissariat, the Labor Commissariat, the Finance Commissariat, the Internal Affairs Commissariat, the Education Commissariat, the Justice Commissariat, the Workers’ and Peasants’ Inspection Commissariat, and the State Political Security Bureau.

Yeping Township: Located in the central-eastern part of Ruijin City, Yeping Township borders Rentai Town, Ridong Township, and Changting County of Fujian Province to the east, adjoins the urban area of Ruijin to the west, connects to Zetan Township and Xianghu Town to the south, and links to Huangbai Township to the north. National Highways 206 and 319, the Rui-Xing-Yu Expressway corridor, and the Ganlong Railway run through the township, while the Aiyui Expressway crosses it.
