The Shazhoubay Revolutionary Site Complex is a classic destination on China’s red tourism route.

The Shazhoubay Revolutionary Site Complex is located in Shazhoubay Town, about 5 kilometers west of Ruijin City, Jiangxi Province. In January 1933, the Provisional Central Politburo of the Communist Party of China, the Central Bureau of the Young Communist League, the Executive Bureau of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and other leading bodies relocated from Shanghai to Ruijin and were stationed in Shazhoubay until July of the following year. The site complex includes 15 nationally designated key cultural relics protection units. The world-famous Red Well is located here. Dozens of state ministries have restored their former sites in this area and established national education bases for revolutionary tradition and patriotism within their respective systems.

Shazhoubay Town: Shazhoubay Town is located in the western suburbs of Ruijin City, about 3 kilometers from the city center, and is named after the natural village of Shazhoubay. The town covers a total area of 65 square kilometers, including 15,942 mu of arable land and 95,779 mu of forest. It administers 12 administrative villages, 150 villager groups, with a total of 5,629 households and a population of 24,018.

During the Soviet Area period, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic, and the Central Revolutionary Military Commission were all based in Shazhouba for one year and seven months.
