Former Site of the Central Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party in the Soviet Area

The Former Site of the Central Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party in the Soviet Area is located in Laocun Village, Yeping Township, Ruijin City, Jiangxi Province. It faces southeast and is built with earth and wood, featuring a gable-and-hip roof, two halls and one central courtyard, with a five-bay width, covering an area of 219.17 square meters.

The Central Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party in the Soviet Area (abbreviated as the CCP Central Bureau of the Soviet Area) was the highest leadership organization of the Party in the national Soviet area. It was established on January 15, 1931, in Xiaobu, Ningdu, and relocated here from Longgang, Yongfeng, in September 1931. Members of the CCP Central Bureau of the Soviet Area included Zhou Enlai, Xiang Ying, Mao Zedong, Deng Fa, Gu Zuolin, Zhu De, Wang Jiaxiang, Ren Bishi, and others. Internal departments included the Organization Department, Propaganda Department, Women’s Department, and Political Security Office. Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Ren Bishi, Wang Jiaxiang, and Zhu De lived and worked here. In April 1933, it moved to Xiaxiao Village, Shazhouba, merging operations with the Provisional Central Committee of the CCP that had relocated from Shanghai. In 1961, it was designated as a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level.
