The former site of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army School is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Jiangxi Province.
The former site of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army School is located at Shangyang Neighborhood Committee, Xianghu Town, Ruijin City, Jiangxi Province. It consists of the ancestral hall of the Yang family, featuring five adjacent halls (namely: Chaofeng, Shisheng, Shitai, Mengzhou, and Zhongxian Mansion), all built with brick and wood structures. They face southwest and are oriented from the northeast, with flush gable roofs, and either two halls with one courtyard or three halls with two courtyards. The Chaofeng Hall was built in the 46th year of the Wanli reign during the Ming Dynasty (1618), the Shisheng Hall was built during the Qianlong Shichen years of the Qing Dynasty, the Shitai Hall was built in 1830, the Mengzhou Hall was built in 1921, and the Zhongxian Mansion Hall was built in 1785. The total area of the five halls is 3,056.73 square meters.
The Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army School was established here in the summer of 1932. Xiao Jingguang, He Changgong, Liu Bocheng, and Ye Jianying successively served as its presidents. The school had various departments including the Administrative Office, Political Department, Training Department (also known as the Education Department), and General Affairs Office. Leaders such as Mao Zedong, Ye Jianying, and Liu Bocheng personally gave lectures to the students. From its establishment until the autumn of 1933, the school held six enrollment sessions, training over 6,000 military and political cadres for the Red Army at various levels. In 2006, it was designated as a key cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Jiangxi Province.

The town covers a total area of 34.5 square kilometers (with an urban area of 18 square kilometers), and governs 8 administrative villages, 11 communities, 247 groups, and has a total population of 235,000, including 39,000 agricultural residents. The town’s Party Committee oversees 1 general branch and 28 Party branches, with 2,253 Party members. The main industries include logistics and warehousing, tourism services, construction labor, construction machinery, garment processing, and vegetable farming.
