Former Site of the Political Security Bureau of the Yuegan Provincial Government

The former site of the Yuegan Provincial Political Security Sub-bureau is located in Qiaobei, Jingqiao Village, Xiefang Town, Ruijin City, Jiangxi Province. Originally the ancestral hall of the Zou family, it has a history of over 120 years. The structure is made of brick and wood, with a gable-and-hip roof, two stories, two halls and one courtyard, and a tiled roof covered with small blue tiles. It covers an area of 465.81 square meters.

On August 16, 1933, the 48th Standing Committee Meeting of the People's Committee of the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic decided to establish the Yuegan Provincial Government. On September 6, a provisional representative meeting of the Yuegan Provincial Soviet was held in Pengjing Village, Huichang County, where a provisional Soviet government of Yuegan Province was elected with Zhong Shibin as chairman. The government had fourteen working departments, including those for military affairs, land, judiciary, and the Yuegan Provincial Political Security Sub-bureau. The Yuegan Provincial Political Security Sub-bureau included an Executive Department (with Execution and Preliminary Review Divisions), an Investigation Department (with Investigation and Inspection Divisions), and a General Affairs Department, among others. The Yuegan Provincial Political Security Sub-bureau made important contributions to the Chinese revolution.
