Originally a Buddhist nunnery, the building’s construction date is unknown. It is a brick-and-wood structure facing north, with three cross rooms covering an area of 125.57 square meters.

From May 19 to 22, 1933, the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic held a flag-giving ceremony in Wuyang District, Ruijin—the area with the best spring farming achievements—to review the experience of the spring cultivation campaign, recognize outstanding contributors, boost enthusiasm for the summer planting season, and increase harvests by 20%. During this event, Mao Zedong, Chairman of the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic, stayed in this house while presiding over the Spring Cultivation Production Flag-Presenting Conference.
