Former Site of the Peng-Yang Infantry School

The former site of the Peng-Yang Infantry School is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Jiangxi Province and a classic destination on the red tourism route.

The former site of the Peng-Yang Infantry School is located in Huamendou, Baxi Village, Jiubao Town, Ruijin City. Also known as the "First Infantry School of the Red Army," the Peng-Yang Infantry School was named in honor of the martyrs Peng Pai and Yang Yin. It was established on October 17, 1933, with Chen Geng serving as the principal and Liu Xiping as the political commissar. The school was located in Jiubao County, Jiangxi Province. With a total of over 1,500 students, it included a Political Battalion and a Staff Battalion, and its trainees were mainly company and platoon-level officers. A total of two sessions were held. In October 1934, it merged with the Red Army University, the Gonglue Infantry School, and the Specialized School to form the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army School.
