Its mission was to: liberate women, organize their participation in revolutionary struggles and governance, and improve and elevate their living standards and social status. After the Red Army’s Long March in October 1934, the former site of the Women's Life Improvement Committee of the Chinese Soviet Republic was damaged by Kuomintang troops. In June 2005, the All-China Women’s Federation allocated special funds to restore the site to its original appearance.
