Pinghai Wei City God Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Pinghai Wei City God Temple is located 530 meters northwest of Pinghai Village, Pinghai Town. It was first built in the 20th year of the Hongwu reign during the Ming Dynasty (1387), and was rebuilt after the reopening of the border during the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty. The enshrined statue of the City God was sculpted in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty and has been recently restored according to the original design, preserving the style of the early Qing Dynasty. The temple faces south and is oriented north, with a total width of 26 meters and a total depth of 61.6 meters, covering a total area of 1,601.6 square meters. It is a two-courtyard corridor-style building, consisting sequentially of a mountain gate, courtyard, main hall, and rear hall, all connected by two corridors. In front of the main gate are square bell and drum towers on either side. The main hall is three bays wide and four pillars deep, featuring a post-and-lintel wooden structure and a hip-and-gable roof. As one of the cross-strait cultural relics, this building provides physical material for the study of ancient local architecture in Putian. Pinghai Wei City God Temple was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province in 2009.

Pinghai Village: Pinghai Village is the seat of the Pinghai Town government in Xiuyu District, Putian City. It enjoys a superior geographical location and convenient transportation, situated 43 kilometers from downtown Putian and 26 kilometers from the Xiuyu District government. Diping Highway runs directly through the village. The village currently covers a land area of 4.2 square kilometers, with 1,669 mu of arable land and 563 mu of forest land. The per capita arable land is only 0.31 mu. The coastline stretches 6 kilometers, and the average elevation is 28 meters. The village comprises 19 villager groups across five natural villages—Dongzhi, Xizhi, Shangdongmen, Xiadongmen, and Ximen—with a total of 1,368 households and 7,980 residents.
