The Kinmen Lieyu Visitor Center Reopens After Six Months of Renovation

After a six-month closure, the Kinmen National Park Headquarters announced that the renovation project of the Lieyu Visitor Center and its surrounding environment has been completed and the center is now reopened to the public starting today. The Lieyu Visitor Center has been closed since March this year for facility improvement work, including ground renewal, replacement of service counters with stainless steel materials, installation of service counter canopies, and repair of the accessible ramp at the entrance.

The Lieyu Visitor Center was originally built by the military and once served as the Jiugong Hospital, providing medical services to both military and civilians. After being taken over by the Kinmen National Park Headquarters, it was renovated and repurposed as a visitor center. It mainly showcases recreational information about the Lieyu area, geological landscapes, military strongholds, bird ecology, and local cuisine. Trained staff also provide regular interpretation and consulting services.
