After a six-month closure, the Kinmen National Park Headquarters announced that the Lieyu Visitor Center and its surrounding areas have finished renovation work and are now reopened to the public. The Lieyu Visitor Center has been closed since March this year for related facility improvements, including floor renewal, replacement of the service counter with stainless steel material, installation of a service counter cover, and repair of the accessible ramp at the entrance.

Originally built by the military, the Lieyu Visitor Center once served as Jiugong Hospital, providing medical services to both military and civilians. After being taken over by the Kinmen National Park Headquarters, it was renovated and repurposed as a visitor center. It mainly displays recreational information about the Lieyu area, geological landscapes, military strongholds, bird ecology, and local cuisine, with staff providing guided interpretation and consultation services on a regular schedule.
