Hu'nan Ancestral Hall

Hu'nan Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Hu'nan Ancestral Hall is located in Yingbian Village, Dongzhuang Town, Xiuyu District, Putian City, and dates back to the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Description: Facing south, the hall covers a construction area of 714 square meters and consists of an entrance hall, a worship pavilion, and the main hall. It features a mixed beam-and-column wooden structure with a hanging gable roof. The main hall has five bays in width and spans two columns in depth, primarily enshrining Master Chen Zhongyu. The ancestral hall preserves an ancient stone relief carving of a carp, a pair of antique couplet boards, a Ming Dynasty spirit tablet for Master Chen Zi, four antique plaques, a Ming Dynasty tablet inscribed with “Dao Shao San Ni” (“The Dao Succeeds the Three Nis”) by Prince Yi of Ming, bearing the seals “Imperial Descendant of the Ming” and “Seal of Prince Yi,” as well as other antique plaques made of camphor wood. Additionally, there is a set of 36 volumes of the 16th-century Ming Wanli edition of "Linzi's Orthodox Teachings of the Three Religions," a four-volume set of "Correct Interpretation of the Four Books," and an antique scripture book "Jade Scripture" printed with the blood (handprint) seal of Empress Zhang during the Chongzhen era.

In 2018, Hu'nan Ancestral Hall was announced by the People’s Government of Fujian Province as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units.

Dongzhuang Town: Known as the “Kingdom of Medicine,” Dongzhuang Town is located in the western part of Xiuyu District, Putian City, Fujian Province, on the shores of Meizhou Bay. It administers one neighborhood committee and 23 administrative villages. The Putian-Xiuyu Highway runs through the entire town.
