The former site of the Houzhang Liaison Station is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Houzhang Liaison Station is located in Houzhang Natural Village, Yuepu Village, Yuetao Township, Xiuyu District, Putian City.

Houzhang Village was an important coastal revolutionary base established by Chen Zhaofang and Wu Chengbin, early leaders of the Putian County Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. Given its favorable terrain and strong mass support, in May 1928, the Putian County Committee decided to establish a secret party liaison station at the home of Zheng A-Wu in Houzhang Village. Managed by Zheng A-Wu, the station was mainly responsible for accommodating visitors, protecting revolutionary comrades, and transmitting important intelligence.

From its establishment in 1928 until the liberation in 1949, the Houzhang Liaison Station hosted leaders of the Putian County Committee, Central County Committee, and the Minzhong (Southern) Special Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, as well as many revolutionaries from central Fujian, providing logistical support for their revolutionary activities. In October 1930, Deng Zihui (using the alias Lao Li), a rural inspector from the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, stayed at the station during his inspection tour in Putian.

During the War of Resistance against Japan, following instructions from the Party organization, Comrade Zheng A-Wu mobilized and sent over ten young people, including Wu Qingquan and Wu Jiulong from Qiqu Village, Liquan, to join the Minzhong Sea Guerrilla Unit. During the Liberation War, the Houzhang Liaison Station was repeatedly targeted by reactionary forces for “encirclement and suppression,” but Zheng A-Wu, with her wisdom and courage, miraculously protected the safety of the secret liaison station and passing comrades. She also actively mobilized farmers to lend grain and contribute funds to the Party organization, organized various support activities, and successfully fulfilled the historical mission entrusted to the Houzhang Liaison Station, contributing to the liberation of Putian.

The former site of the Houzhang Liaison Station is a two-story, earthen-and-wood structure consisting of three wing rooms, covering a total area of 280 square meters.
