Waipu Beach

The Waipu Beach Tourist Area in Xiapu County is located in Waipu Village, situated in the middle section of Dongchong Peninsula in the southern part of the county. Waipu Village is less than 1 kilometer from the town center of Xiapu Town and is a typical fishing village primarily engaged in kelp farming and fishing activities.

As one of the four major beaches in Xiapu County — “Waipu, Dajing, Gaoluo, and Lvxia” — Waipu Beach enjoys mild winters and cool summers with small temperature variations, and an average annual temperature of 18.3

to 18.6°C. On the southwest side of the beach are scenic spots such as Pipa Island and Shigongbi. This tourist area connects upward to Chian Shore – Yangjiaxi – Taimu Mountain and downward to Sandu’ao – Ningde – Fuzhou, making it an important link in the scenic tourism route of Xiapu County.
