Dajing Fortress

Dajing, anciently known as Dajin, is located on the southeastern coast of Xiapu County in Fujian Province, close to Zhejiang. The local residents mainly engage in fishing and farming, and the area has a simple and honest folkway. As the saying goes among people from Zhejiang, “Head north to Qingdao, head south to Dajing,” which shows the status of Dajing in the hearts of people from Jiangsu and Zhejiang.

Dajing Fishing Village is 40 kilometers from the county seat. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the sea to the east, boasting beautiful landscapes and a land rich in talent. The ancient Dajing Fortress has withstood 600 years of wind and rain and remains largely intact. It is said to be the longest rural ancient fortress in China today and was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province in 1991.

Transportation

Take a bus to Dajing from the Xiapu intercity bus station. Buses run every hour, the journey takes about one and a half hours, and the fare is 19 yuan.
